Millbrook Mattress - Grandeur Splendour

Recently Millbrook gave us permission to start test-driving their new Millbrook mattress range. Armed with the 2009 catalogue, I placed an order for their featured bed of the month, the very posh sounding Grandeur Splendour divan bed set.

First Impressions of the Grandeur Splendour Millbrook Mattress

As you can see from the picture above, this is an imposing bed. In my rather small bedroom, the kingsize demo bed I received seemed to take up a lot more space than my normal bed even though the dimensions are completely standard.

My first impression was that this was a very high quality piece of equipment. The divan base was well produced – I got the Gold Pocket Designer Divan (there is also a Bronze pocket and Walnut pocket, shown above) upholstery and the mattress seemed very comfortable.

The facts

The Splendour mattress is a pocketsprung unit with 2000 pocketsprings in the 5FT Kingsize. The mattress cover is made from a blend of cotton, silk and wool to provide a soft, almost sensuous sleeping surface.

This Millbrook mattress is finished with 2 rows of traditional hand-stitching on the borders.

Storage solutions are available across the range. In the 3FT Single bed you have the option of no drawers or 2 drawers. In the larger sizes you can choose between no drawers, 2 drawers, 4 drawers and the very clever 4-drawer conti option.

Overall

I am a fan of pocketsprung mattresses and this one didn’t disappoint. If you’re in the market for a luxurious, high quality divan bed or mattress from Millbrook, the Grandeur Splendour is perfect.
